Since it is Sunday and the start of this new adventure...

We belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! I love this part of a talk by President Monson

"Following the Lord’s Blueprint
Kneel down to pray. Step up to serve. Reach out to rescue. Each is a vital page of God’s blueprint to make a house a home and a home a heaven.

Balance is key to us in our sacred and solemn responsibilities in our own homes and in our Church callings. We must use wisdom, inspiration, and sound judgment as we care for our families and fulfill our Church callings, for each is vitally important. We cannot neglect our families; we must not neglect our Church callings.

Let us build with skill, take no shortcuts, and follow His blueprint. Then the Lord, even our building inspector, may say to us, as He said when He appeared to Solomon, a builder of another day, “I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually” (1 Kgs. 9:3). We will then have heavenly homes and forever families and will be able to help, to strengthen, and to bless other families as well.

I pray most humbly and sincerely that this blessing may come to each of us. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen."

Summer 2009

So I don't have a picture from our exact aniversary... but this will have to do. This was when we went to Maine last summer.

Happy Aniversary!

On Sunday July 18, 2010. Sam and I celebrated our 2nd aniversary. So inlcuding marriage we have been together for 4 years! Can you believe it??? I can't! But it has been great! So lets take a look back!

Cooperstown, NY

On Saturday we went with our good friends to Cooperstown to the Baseball Hall of Fame. It was a lot of fun although Patty and I wanted to do a little shopping and didnt get to. Maybe next time!

Best salsa ever!

So this is such a yummy, yummy salsa!!!! Found it on a blog... I modified it a bit!

1 can diced tomatoes (regular size can)
1 can Rotelle
1 - 2 tsp lemon juice
Cut up almost an entire bunch of Cilantro
2 Stalks of green onions cut up
Salt & Pepper to taste
Garlic Salt, powder, or fresh!

Toss in blender and serve! Yum!

Family!

I plan on making a wall in our house dedicated to family pictures. This is what I made to have as a title to the wall. I bought the wood block for about $3 painted the block pink. Cut "family" on the cricut as well as the flowers. Mod podged it all down and glued the buttons on.

More Mod Podge!

The picture didn't turn out good but the project did! I bought the wood block for about $1.50 and then painted it blue took a old temple calender and cut one of the pictures to fit, applied mod podge to the front and back. Sanded the edges to make it look antiqued.

I made this using some wooden letter blocks from the craft store. Then I painted them brown with basic acyrlic paint. Then I put the blocks wrong side up and traced the paper, then cut the letters. Then applied mod podge to the back of paper, and let it dry. Using and exacto knife I cut the rough edges. Applied mod podge to the top of the paper and let it dry. Using a nail file I sanded the rough edges. Using brown ink applied the edges to make it look "distressed" . Then tied ribbion and hot glued the buttons on. It was a lot of fun, these letters have been sitting in our room blank for over a year. So I am excited to hang them on the wall. K - for Kate and S - for Sam!!!

Feelin' Crafty

I made all these things today... instead of doing housework. So much more fun! It did make a mess though, Sam is just going to have to deal! I now have mod podge, ink, and paint all over my hands. But hey it was fun!

That is what I always think... I need to update, do something with my blog. So here I am! I finally got my associates in music education. Sam got a new and better job. I am working at CVS (sooo cool) lol. Teaching piano and selling mary kay. I just got called to 2nd counselor in YW... I think I was a young women just a few years ago lol. Oh well... I am glad to be 'blogging' again!

Easter Sunday

Sam and I had our usual holiday going between the two famlies... busy busy! As well we went the the hospital to see Nana Crandall. I'll put up more pictures later but this one is too cute to pass up!

School and such!

It seems right now that all we are doing is school work!!! Sam just finished his degree at BCC in Computer Information Systems! Now he will be applying soon to Empire State University, which is an online University! YAY for Sam! I should be done with BCC by August 09', which I can't wait for! I am keeping busy with homework and trying to keep our house clean. Sam is busy with work, cleaning the gutters, fixing cars etc.
